Elected officials, representatives from the YMCA of Greater New York, Brooklyn Voters Alliance, DemocracyNYC, NALEO Educational Fund, and the League of Women Voters gathered on Tuesday morning for a press event at the McBurney YMCA in order to highlight voter eligibility, voter registration, and civic responsibility. 

To be housed at the Flatbush YMCA branch, this Center will be the organization’s seventh New Americans Welcome Center, an initiative to help immigrants thrive in New York City.

The YMCA of Greater New York’s New Americans Initiative will join Welcoming America and hundreds of YMCAs and other organizations nationwide in hosting events to celebrate immigrants’ contributions to communities and bring together all residents in a spirit of unity.
